The orthodox church in Łopienka

The orthodox Greek Catholic Church of brick was built in 1757 in the same place where a wooden church had been. From the beginning it was a place of worship of the Virgin Mary because there is her picture which is famous for miracles and indulgences. A lot of people came here between the first world war and the second world war to get the indulgences which were organized 3 times a year during the different holidays. On the 1st of October 2000, a copy of the miraculous image of the Blessed Virgin Mary was carried into the church during the Holy Mass. The orthodox church is open all the time for people visiting it. Nowadays, the indulgence takes place on the first Sunday of October every year and it is a tradition.
