Bieszczady Narrow Gauge Railway

The legendary Bieszczady Narrow Gauge Railway "Bieszczadzka Kolejka Leśna" goes two directions. One is from Majdan to Przysłup by Cisna towards Połoniny. The other is along the Slovak border to Balnica. The history of the interwar period threatened the disappearance of the railway line from the Bieszczady landscape. Fortunately, thanks to the social initiative, the Bieszczady Forest Railway Foundation was founded on the 16th of July 1996. Its purpose was to save the railway and make it a tourist attraction. The sting and dedication of the people led to the re-launch of the line called "Bieszczadzka Ciuchcia" on 4 July 1997 from Majdan to Przysłup. Since then the interest in rail travel has not decreased, but on the contrary, it is growing year by year. Its  equipment, its attractiveness and the offer of transport increase too. A lot of tourists travel by it every year what makes it one of the best attraction in Bieszczady. Some museum exhibits are located in the administrative buildings.
