Ignacy Łukasiewicz Museum Of The Oil and Gas Industry in Bóbrka

People staying in Sosnowa Aleja were interested in the history of discovery petroleum (oil) in Podkarpacie in 19th century. They visited Ignacy Łukasiewicz Museum of the Oil and Gas Industry in Bóbrka. The oil main founded in 1854 was the witness to the birth of the world oil industry. Thanks to the administrative authority of that region, the unique open-air museum came into being exactly in that place in 1961. Now, it is possible to see "kopanki" (something similar to the well) from where the oil was taken, old tools, instruments, machines and drilling towers. Visiting that museum and watching holograms can take us to the time when polish oil industry started. We can also find out more about the story of the people that made up its foundation.
